Walking for Wellness

Join the Walking for Wellness program with a certified fitness instructor, and improve your overall health and well-being one step at a time! In this 6-week session, you'll improve form, walking distance, speed and technique all while enjoying the great outdoors and connecting with others in the community.

You will have the opportunity to learn about other topics such as:

  • Proper footwear
  • Exercises for better walking
  • Safety/awareness
  • Meditation walking
  • Warm-up and cool down stretches
  • Strength/balance training and why they are important for walking
  • Mental and physical health benefits of walking

In the case of inclement weather, the indoor track at the Recreation Center will be utilized. Please bring bug spray and sunscreen to each class.

FREE CLASSES!

Join us for two complimentary offerings of Walking for Wellness to experience what this class has to offer. Each participant that attends will receive a free towel and will be entered into a drawing for a free class registration! The free classes will be held at the Downers Grove Recreation Center.
