Membership Information

  • Individual members must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
  • Household members must all reside at the same address and provide proof of residency to receive resident pricing.
  • Senior members must be 62 years of age and older.
  • Senior couple memberships can include only two seniors ages 62 and older and both must reside in the same household.
  • Student members must be 14 to 23 years of age and provide proof of full-time status.
  • Civil Servant rate is available to Police Officers, Firefighters and Paramedics who work or live in Downers Grove. Proof of employment is required.
  • Military/Veteran: who can provide proof of service, in a branch of the armed forces; veterans must be honorably discharged.

New Members

Fitness memberships can be purchased at 4500 Fitness located at the Downers Grove Recreation Center Monday through Friday from 5AM to 9PM and Saturday to Sunday from 7AM to 6PM. Proof of residency is required for resident pricing. If you have questions regarding memberships prior to visiting us, please call us at 630.960.7462 Monday to Friday from 5AM to 9PM and Saturday and Sunday from 7AM-6PM.

Membership Residency

To qualify for residency benefits, please provide the necessary documentation when purchasing memberships either in-person or through our online application. By presenting the required documentation, you can ensure a smooth process when purchasing your membership.

Documentation Requirements: Valid current driver's license, official signed lease which clearly states the lease dates and all names of all parties requesting residency, current utility bills reflecting names and address (Electric, Gas, Refuse).

Verification Process:   To verify Downers Grove residency, we rely on information from the DuPage County Assessor's Office. By checking ownership and tax allocations to the Downers Grove Park District, we can determine eligibility. If your address does not contribute taxes to the Downers Grove Park District, you will be offered a non-resident membership.

Payment Plan Option

If you choose the convenient payment plan option, the first month payment will be prorated from the date of sign-up to the date of the first monthly billing and will be due at the time of purchase. Payment plans are required to have an automatic withdrawal from a checking, savings or credit card to qualify. Memberships will remain active until a notice of cancellation has been made to 4500 Fitness. Please contact our Fitness Registration staff at for complete details on membership types. Membership Add-On

If you have a membership and would like to add a family member who resides in your household, please visit us in person during our hours of operation or complete the 4500 Fitness Application. All members 18 years and older are subject to proof of residency and must be present to sign waiver.

Business Membership
Downers Grove Employee

Make fitness part of your workday with our local corporate rate. Full-time employees of any business that pays taxes to the Downers Grove Park District are eligible to purchase a Fitness Center annual membership at resident rates. Enroll a minimum of six employees from your company at the same time and receive a special discount. For more information, contact us at 630.960.7462.

Membership Renewals

If you hold a membership on the monthly billing plan, your membership will automatically renew unless you cancel it. To renew your annual paid-in-full membership login to your online account at After logging in, click on Membership Renewals under the Search tab. Cancellation and Suspension Policy

Paid in Full Memberships - Paid in full memberships purchased or renewed on or after June 1, 2024 will no longer have the option to cancel or suspend the membership.

Monthly Memberships - Annual Fitness Memberships on a monthly payment plan must be active for a minimum of 90 days from the date of purchase to be eligible for cancellation or to request a one-time suspension for up-to 4 months. To initiate a membership cancellation or suspension, individuals are required to submit a formal request through our online form or complete a physical form in-person at 4500 Fitness.

Monthly membership cancellation requests received by the 10th day of the current month will not incur additional charges. However, member benefits will conclude on the 14th day of the same month.  Requests received on the 11th – 14th day of the month will result in an extra billing cycle with membership benefits extending until the 14th day of the following month.  

Please note that enrollment fees are non-refundable, and 4500 Fitness does not offer refunds for unused days.
